1. Conditions of Loan

  • Equipment is available solely to current Digital Media students and lecturers for programme-related activities, not for personal use.
  • The loan period is negotiable upon equipment request, but typically kept brief to accommodate demand.
  • Equipment loan applications can be made on the spot on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Reservations must be cancelled at least two (2) days before the reserved date by informing the Programme Head or the lecturer in charge.
  • Extensions to the loan period must be requested at least two (2) days before the loan period ends.

2. Payment and Receipt

  • Payments for equipment loans must be transferred to the Touch n’ Go eWallet of the lecturer or tutor in charge.
  • A receipt will be issued upon placing an order as proof of payment.
  • Borrowers are required to screenshot the proof of payment and provide it as a reference.

3. Owner’s Rights

Dasein Academy reserves the right to:

  • Refuse any loan request or extension.
  • Disqualify applications even if prior approval was given.
  • Impose mandatory cancellation of the reservation.
  • Limit the quantity of equipment loaned to any individual.
  • Amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

4. Borrower Responsibilities

  • Borrowers must use the equipment properly and only for its intended purpose as trained by the Programme Head or lecturer in charge.
  • Borrowers are responsible for taking clear photos and videos of the equipment from all angles before and after use, to serve as proof of the equipment’s condition.
  • The borrower assumes all risks associated with the use of the equipment.
  • Equipment must be returned in the same condition as it was issued, barring normal wear and tear.
  • The borrower is responsible for the equipment and must not leave it unattended or transfer it to anyone not listed in the loan form.
  • Any loss, theft, or damage to the equipment will result in the borrower being charged for full repair or replacement costs.
  • Failure to return the equipment on time will result in late fees, loss of borrowing privileges, and other penalties, including academic holds that can affect the borrower’s ability to register for courses or obtain transcripts.

5. Declaration and Financial Obligations

  • By borrowing equipment, the borrower agrees to all terms and conditions stated and understands the financial responsibilities, including deposit requirements and potential penalties for late returns or damage.
